mIRC is by far the most popular IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client, which has been around on the internet from almost the very beginning of its modern history. Released in late February of 1995 by British programmer Khaled Mardam-Bey, this highly popular chat client managed to immediately catch the attention of the worldwide public, making it one of the driving forces that popularized the entire IRC ecosystem of apps.
The unique feature that made mIRC so successful was not only its simple interface and streamlined way of accessing all the most popular features of IRC networks, but also a scripting language that could be used to control and automate wide variety of mIRC services. mIRC scripting can control its look, reactions to incoming chat messages, behavior while sharing files, and more. All of that scripting can be created with its integrated GUI scripting editor, which is very much focused on professionals and enthusiasts who know how to write code. Developers of this mIRC feature took a very special care to enable users to experiment, but to prevent any occurrence of malicious programming.
mIRC has very simple and easy to use interface, and lets its users customize almost all chat parameters. mIRC should now be faster, more stable, and more compatible with the latest versions of Windows, and should be able to better handle the display and input of a variety of languages.
